Relationships

Okay, so I've been in this relationship since the 23rd of January and I'm feeling a little discouraged. It has been very one-sided. I seem to be the one putting all my time and enery into this and not getting anything in return. And, what's more, I'm sure that I've seen him in the arms of another. The time has come for me to make a decision. I think that it is time for me to tell this guy where to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Candy hearts???

Just watching the news this evening and was shocked to see a report of a drug bust, that included 'esctasy' pills that resembled these valentine candy. What is our world coming too when there are sick, evil people out there trying to get little kids hooked on these addictive, mind-altering, life-changing drugs. Parents really need to educate their children on so much more these days.

Thursday Hook-in

Had a hook-in at my house tonight. There were four of us there.
Here is Daisy working on her 'On a String' Cushion. She is a new hooker and is doing great.

Joanne just started hooking her outport scene.
Bernice has started her 'Childhood Home' piece.
And here is the progress on my cushion. I've been doing a lot of knitting lately, but hook at least a half hour every day.
And of course after we hooked we had some of those delicious cupcakes I showed you last night. A great time with lots of gabbing and laughter.
If you are in our neck of the woods, enjoy the lovely day that we are going to have tomorrow because Saturday speaks for 15-20 cms of snow again. Great time to hook.

Cupcakes

I tend to panic a little when I don't have something sweet in the house. This happened this evening when I came home from work. So of course, I made some Devil's Food cupcakes. My siblings and I blame out mother for our sweet addiction. When we were growing up Mom always had something delicious baked up for dessert. Here she is with Grant at his Welcome home party. Mom is not able to bake anymore, so we bake for her now and are happy to return the favor.

Happy Valentine's Day!

A day for telling family and friends just how much they mean to you. I hope all my friends were treated extra special today.

I just knit these cute little bunny hats for my great-nieces. Now to get them in the mail tomorrow. I hope they enjoy wearing them.
What a beautiful day it was at the cabin on Saturday. This is a great shot of the sun on the ocean. The view from our cabin.
This one I snapped when the dogs and I went for a walk on Saturday morning. The large piece of land is called Roundabout Head.

Here are Cleo and Shuster having lots of fun in the snow on our walk. The downside was:  all the snowballs that stuck to  their paws. They weren't long melting when we got back to the cabin and they lay down by the potbellied stove. The heat soon got rid of that problem.

We went for a ride on the snowmobile on Saturday afternoon. This tree  covered in snow reminded me of a witch.

Saw some partridges in a small crop of woods. Just snapped this in time before they went to wing.
Then not far from those we came upon this one all by himself on the snow. This one was really quiet and let us get really close to get a picture. Couldn't believe it didn't  fly away. They are so pretty this time of the year.
We also saw a fox, but he was too fast for us to get a picture. I guess he was shy. All in all a great day in the great outdoors. The sun was shining and winds were calm.
And lastly, here is a picture of Gordon's woodpile... pretty impressive don't you think?

Baby Shower and Snow showers!!

Went to A Baby shower this evening. It's been a while since I've been to one of those. Ryder was so cute and such a good baby. He got passed around the room and didn't make a sound. The population has been steadily declining in our little town. The younger generation are not staying around here because there is little work available and not many activities to keep them occupied. The kindergarten class in our school has only 4 students this year. The upside of this is that kids are given a lot of one on one class time and can do a lot of different activities that a larger class wouldn't be able to do.

Now on to the weather, sorry but we have been having a lot of snow lately. This is what it looked like yesterday evening when it had just started.

And this is how it looked this morning. I can feel the aches and pains from shovelling. When is that next Massage appointment. There is just no end to this madness. It took forever for the snow to start and now it just won't stop. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

progress report

Here is the progress so far on my Mittens cushion. I'm really liking this grey plaid. I alternated on the wrist with red to resemble ribbing and am kinda pleased with the result. Can't wait to finish this one and move on to my next project.

I am going to hook our family home which was sold last year. I'll see how it turns out and then decide if I want to rehook it as gifts for my siblings.

Just look at these cute valentine dishcloths that I knit. Little gifts to be included with a card for Valentine's Day. Guess I'll have to get them in the mail in the next couple of days.

I just love doing things to make people smile and brighten their day!

Calm day and a wool stash!

Ah, the proverbial 'Calm before the storm' picture. Let's see what tomorrow will bring. Weather forecast says 10-20cm. for us. Sounds like a great day for hooking.

Organized my WOOL WALL today. This shows part of my wool stash. I bought these great little baskets at Dollarama for $2. each. Gotta love them. I used them for all those little balls of odds and ends. The Wool I have on the wall are the ones I want to do some projects out of in the next few months. The rest of my stash is in 2 Rubbermaid Totes. I think I have a wool ADDICTION!!!!

Happy hookin'

Well we didn't get the STORM we thought. we did get a LOT of fluffy snow, about two feet of it in my driveway... and it's a mighty long driveway, more of a lane really. Beautiful day today. No wind and the sun is shining, so the hook-in went ahead. I had 2 new hookers and 3 old hookers. Didn't take much in the way of pictures. No progress yet. Will post that next week. Here is a picture of the pattern that I designed for the new hookers to start- On a String! And another picture of some delicious Chewy Brownies that I made. I got the recipe from Craftaholics Anonymous blog. Check her out. Her link is on my sidebar.

Stormyyyyyyy Weather

The storm has started. Too dark outside to take a picture, but you know what, you all know what a winter storm looks like anyway right. The wind is supposed to pick up considerably. Hope I get a snow day tomorrow, but then I hope it clears up before 7pm. I have a hookin at my house and have 3 new hookers coming, and 4 old hookers, lol. Should be fun. Will post some pics if the weather settles for them all to show up. Wish me luck.
